Lady Blackbird

Lady Blackbird possesses a voice that breathes freedom: raw, powerful, and emotional. Following her acclaimed debut 'Black Acid Soul', she returns with 'Slang Spirituals': her most personal and ambitious work to date. In eleven songs, she explores themes of liberation, identity, and self-acceptance, drawing on influences from jazz, soul, gospel, folk, and psychedelic rock. The collaboration with producer Chris Seefried results in a grand and vulnerable album, on which Lady Blackbird transforms her past of religious restriction into musical and spiritual freedom. Live, she delivers all of this with unparalleled intensity and boundless expression. On Sunday May 10 at Muziekgieterij.
